Dessert, Chocolate, Nuts: Brownies
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup margarine
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda Frosting Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 6 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- Mix together buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and baking soda.
- In a seperate bowl, mix together 2 cups sugar and 2 cups flour.
- In a saucepan, mix together and boil margarine, cocoa and water.
- Add the boiling mixture to the buttermilk mixture.
- Next, add the Sugar and Flour mixture.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spread the brownie mixture in an 11 x 16 greased and floured cookie sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Prepare the frosting 5 minutes before the brownies come out of the oven.
- Boil margarine, cocoa and buttermilk in a saucepan.
- Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
- Spread onto hot brownies.
